Company’s latest gridiron launch includes four sought-after inserts per hobby box including at least one rookie autographed memorabilia card
Carlsbad, CA (November 17, 2010) – The hobby’s favorite football card manufacturer has just released its latest gridiron effort: 2010 SPx Football! A 100-card regular set, the newest SPx delivery includes, for the first time ever, an all-collegiate look and feel with superstar veterans like Tom Brady (Michigan) and Brett Favre (Southern Mississippi) featured alongside upstart rookies including Colt McCoy (Texas), Sam Bradford (Oklahoma), Tim Tebow (Florida) and LeGarrette Blount (Oregon). And just like other Upper Deck releases, it’s the collection’s superb lineup of sought-after insert cards that will drive football fans to a whole new level of excitement.
“Every year our SPx Football release is met with great anticipation and frenzied excitement from collectors, and this year’s effort is no different,” said Brandon Miller, Upper Deck’s Football brand manager. “Besides the rookie autographed memorabilia card that falls one per box, this year’s release also brings back the rare SPx Shadow Box inserts, some of which are autographed, and some other surprises that we think collectors will be very happy with.”
This year’s football campaign has already seen the emergence of top professional rookies like Tebow in Denver, McCoy in Cleveland and Bradford in St. Louis. And not only are each of these highly touted up-and-comers included in 2010 SPx Football, but so are other blossoming stars like Dexter McCluster (Kansas City), Rob Gronkowski (New England), Ndamukong Suh (Detroit) Jimmy Clausen (Carolina) and Dez Bryant (Dallas). And the best part is they all have autographed rookie memorabilia cards in the set, all of which are numbered to 375 or less!
Up to three additional autograph or memorabilia cards will appear per every hobby box, on average, and will include rare patch cards numbered to 125 or less. What’s more is that SPx Shadow Box cards are making an appearance, falling at a rate of one per case, on average. Collectors should keep their eyes peeled for rare, hard-signed SPx Shadow Box cards spotlighting retired greats like Earl Campbell (Texas), Archie Manning (Ole Miss) and Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State), along with newly emerging stars like CJ Spiller (Clemson), Jahvid Best (California) and Ryan Mathews (Fresno State).
The remaining autograph and memorabilia insert cards in 2010 SPx Football read like the box score following Michael Vick’s Monday Night Football performance this past week: stunning! The multi-tiered “Super Scripts” autograph cards include parallels (numbered to five) as well as dual, triple, quad, six- and eight-signature variations. The memorabilia cards, meanwhile, just keep on coming with “Rookie Materials” cards (numbered to 299); “Winning Materials” cards (numbered to 50); “Fantastic Foursome” cards (numbered to 25); and “Winning Trio Patch Parallels” (numbered to 15).
Upper Deck’s 2010 SPx Football set holds four cards per pack and 18 packs per box and is currently available on store shelves.
