Carlsbad, CA (June 16, 2010) – With Father’s Day (Sunday, June 20) nearly upon us, Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) wants to remind sports memorabilia collectors everywhere that there’s still time to enter the company’s “Hunt for the Ultimate Man Cave” contest. As dad’s day approaches, all eyes are on him and what better way to pay tribute to dear old dad than by submitting either images or video showing off his ultra-cool collection of signed UDA sports memorabilia? If he winds up being named UDA’s Ultimate Man Cave winner, he’ll be awarded an authentic, limited-edition, autographed and hand-painted Michael Jordan Bulls Jersey (numbered to 6) with a retail value of $3,000! “It’s really been exciting to see some of the outstanding entries come in with incredible UDA collections on display,” said UDA’s Senior Business Manager Chuck Donato. “We want to reward our loyal customers through this contest since they are the ones who purchase authentic memorabilia from UDA. Our mission is to provide the real deal to our customers. This promotion is all about thanking them for investing in our premium line of memorabilia.”
Since 1992, UDA has been there to provide rabid collectors with compelling and authentic signed memorabilia from sports heroes ranging from Jordan to Tiger Woods to LeBron James. And now UDA wants to see the habitats that men from around the globe have created and showcase them via the company’s Facebook page.
What started as a five-week promotion leading up to Father’s Day weekend is coming to a halt on Monday. Up for grabs are several compelling prizes from the Upper Deck Authenticated portfolio or products simply for submitting an entry. In fact, by sending in video or images by Monday, June 21, collectors will still have the opportunity to receive a LeBron James autographed “Spotlight” photo as part of our “Last Call” random drawing. And for anyone who has submitted video or images of their collections, there will be one more weekly drawing to add a Michael Jordan game-used floor piece in a collector’s box to the lucky recipient’s man cave. Participants can only win once for their submissions and winners are being announced on Facebook. The overall grand prize winner will also be announced on Facebook.
Several coveted collections have been shared with UDA staffers in an effort to sway the judges. The competition for ownership of the MJ jersey is getting fierce. UDA staff members will review all submissions in an effort to determine the top overall “Man Cave” from the hundreds of entries received so far and will award the first-place finisher with the prized MJ-signed keepsake. The following criteria will be followed for judging purposes to find the ultimate man cave for this specific promotion:
- A prominent selection of UDA items should on display in the man cave. Additional points will be awarded for presenting a good cross section of old and new UDA items.
- The quality of the submission. Were photos or video haphazardly taken or is the submission as superb as the man cave itself? The submissions should be high-quality with solid descriptions to help paint the picture of why your man cave is the best.
- The quality of the display. Are items displayed in an attractive and compelling manner or are they just tossed together? We are looking for an eye-catching arrangement to showcase attractive UDA items.
- How creative was the owner in putting together, displaying and showing off his man cave? UDA staff will award additional points for creativity.
