Five collectors will be sent to New York to the new Yankee Stadium as a part of Upper Deck’s ‘Yankee Stadium Legacy’ program
North Las Vegas, NV (September 11, 2008) – When Upper Deck announced they would be producing a commemorative set for every game ever to take place at Yankee Stadium, some people were initially skeptical as to how collectors would react to it. The set has been a huge hit with collectors however. Now with all 6,661 cards commemorating 1923-2007 in the market, Upper Deck is excited to announce a program that can bring Yankee fans even closer to the game.
Five collectors will be selected to travel to New York next season to attend a game at the new Yankee Stadium and meet the Yankee Captain himself, Derek Jeter. First collectors need to complete the 6,661 card set which will certainly be a challenge. Next they will need to show off the set to Upper Deck with creative photos or videos that showcase their love for the Bronx Bombers. Lastly they will just need to send in the set to validate it is complete.
Since Upper Deck’s Yankee Stadium Legacy set includes only Yankee home games through the 2007 season, these collectors will also receive each of the insert cards chronicling the 2008 season to complete their sets. The YSL cards representing 2008 will appear in 2009 Upper Deck Series One Baseball next February and thus put an end to the Yankee Stadium Legacy promotion.
To participate in the program, collectors need to simply follow these easy step-by-step directions:
- Contact Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s hobby marketing manager at (702)633-0775 or chris_carlin@upperdeck.com to officially register for the promotion once you have completed the set and are ready to submit your photo or video.
- Directions will then be given to submit the set for validation.
- Upper Deck will award the five most creative collectors with this special trip and return their set to them with cards for the 2008 season.
Who among the collecting masses will be first to put together the largest baseball card set of all-time, show their love for the Yankees and capture this once-in-a-lifetime experience provided only through Upper Deck? That answer remains to be seen, but just like the historic Yankee Stadium, time is running out. For more information on the Yankee Stadium Legacy program, please visit www.ownthelegacy.com.
