Upper Deck Unveils Its Latest Work of Art: 2007-08 NBA Chronology
This year’s set includes beautiful artists’ painting cards of the brightest stars in the NBA printed on canvas-like paper
North Las Vegas, NV (August 14, 2008) – Last year, Upper Deck’s NBA Chronology brand provided a shot in the arm to the NBA marketplace and it returns this season packing even more of a punch. Collectors of young prospects need to look no further than 2007-08 NBA Chronology as it boasts a strong field of rookies from the 2007-08 campaign and the opportunity to find exchange cards for 2008-09 rookie players. With exclusive autograph content for players like Michael Jordan and Kevin Garnett, 2007-08 NBA Chronology is also loaded with tremendous value.
The Chronology brand has been particularly successful as it affords collectors the opportunity to own high-end trading cards of top-tier players from yesteryear, today and tomorrow. There are a variety of limited-edition autographed and game-used cards of many NBA legends including Magic Johnson, Dominique Wilkins, John Stockton, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving and John Wooden to name a few. With each pack yielding three autographs, hoop fans have lots of reasons to be excited.
One of the most compelling additions to this year’s set, however, is the inclusion of artists’ paintings cards that immortalize a memorable moment or a young player on card stock that looks and feels just like canvas. Upper Deck commissioned a variety of talented artists to bring these moments to life. Rare parallel and autograph versions of these cards are also available.
“We wanted to build on the success of the premier season of Chronology by producing a solid sophomore release, and we have accomplished that,” said Bill Beaman, Upper Deck product manager for basketball. “Upper Deck’s 2007-08 NBA Chronology is one of the few products released featuring so many premium cards of so many premium players. It’s the type of product that people gather around when someone is opening a pack. We believe the painted cards will be a slam dunk with NBA collectors as well since they are unlike anything they’ve ever seen.”
Upper Deck’s 2007-08 NBA Chronology carries a suggested retail price of $275 per seven-card hobby pack and is available in stores now.
