Four more collectors win big in June roundup
North Las Vegas, NV – (July 8, 2008) – Collectors videotaping themselves opening up Upper Deck products and posting the videos online is nothing new, but getting rewarded for it is. Upper Deck’s new “Diamond Vision™” site powered by Magnify.net gives collectors a chance to view videos from other collectors and to post their own footage as well. The “Show Us Your Box Breaks!™” contest on the site gives creative videographers the chance to post their videos and win big prizes.
In June, Anthony Waskie of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, won top honors in Week 1 for his video with his darling young daughter Alleigh. This family of Phillies fans had a great time uncovering players from a 2008 Upper Deck® Baseball (Series Two) box and now they’ve won a free box of 2008 Upper Deck® A Piece of History Baseball™.
Week 3 honors went to Steve Emerick of Maryland Heights, Missouri, for his video opening up 2008 SP Legendary Cuts® Baseball where he had the amazing luck of pulling two autograph cut cards. Emerick has been collecting since 1968 and has grown up around baseball. He is already planning another video to enter in July around 2007-08 NHL The Cup.
Week 4’s top honor went to Alex Gray of West Grove, Pennsylvania, who opened a box of 2008 SPx™ Baseball where he gave great background on the product while also getting some great pulls. He finished up his video by pulling a great Derek Jeter exchange card and will now be rewarded with a complimentary box for his efforts.
But the big winner for the month was Week 2 frontrunner Dr. John Capelli of Kenosha, Wisconsin, who really had a lot of fun compiling his video. Viewers were made to feel like they were at the introduction of a Chicago Bulls game as Capelli has music blaring in the background while he opened two packs of 2007-08 NBA UD Black® wearing white gloves. Not only did he do a great job with what he pulled, but he finished with a very funny exchange between mini-standees of Michael Jordan and Joakim Noah.
“Big pulls help to win the weekly contests, but to win the monthly prize, collectors have to get creative,” said Chris Carlin, hobby marketing manager for Upper Deck. “It’s been fun watching how creative Upper Deck fans can be through this contest. We have quite a few videos on the site now, so even if collectors do not have a video to load, they can still visit the site and see what others have posted. Many of these videos are very entertaining. We anticipate they will just get better as collectors get more and more creative.”

Up for grabs are four more boxes of Upper Deck products, an autographed football signed by all attendees at the NFL Rookie Photo Shoot and the chance to win tickets to the 2008 World Series. Winning videos are chosen based on votes from fellow collectors, creativity, cards pulled and excitement.
