Acclaimed TV Producer/writer Vanessa Taylor wrote the script – with Game of Thrones amongst the list of TV shows that she has produced and written for. The plot is simple yet captivating, introducing the audience to Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) and Kay (Meryl Streep) Soames who have been married for 30 years and have a routine marriage. Kay feels like they need to rekindle the spice in their marriage and they seek marriage counseling from Dr. Feld. They get on a plane, after Kay succeeds in persuading Arnold, and they end up in the Great Hope Springs for marriage therapy. Their week retreat with Dr. Feld sees them go through several therapeutic steps to restore intimacy to their marriage.
Part of the cast includes Dr. Feld (Steve Carell), Kay’s friend Eileen (Jean Smart), Kay and Arnold’s son Brad (Ben Rappaport), and Kay and Arnold’s daughter Molly (Matin Ireland), Kay and Arnold’s son in law Mark (Patch Darragh) and Arnold’s friend Vince (Brett Rice).
