they will be shipped very soon it seems.  mine are in the shipping process.  It usually takes 5-10 business days for them to ship.  Here's UD's official announcement.  hope it helps

    Re: obama icon cards

Thanks for posting.  I'm glad to see the card and that we are going to get them soon.  I am pretty upset though with the bonus card.  I wait over a year for a product I paid good money for and my bonus card is some Favre card that is going to have zero value, both financial or personal?  This is unacceptable.  I am done buying Upper Deck products if this is the kind of customer service that they believe is acceptable.  We should receive our Obama card and an equivalent replacement card for our loyalty and extreme patience.

    Re: obama icon cards

I have never had a problem with Upper Deck sending out a redemption card. I feel their products are far superior than any other out there. I can understand your frustration waiting for a card, but considering the level of quality and the highest authentic quality, you shouldn't give up on them.

You already know that cards like this aren't pre-made and can't be done over night. To be honest with you I am pretty jealous you are waiting for one of these. I didn't even get one. Sure you had to wait, but have you heard some of the horror stories from other companies and their redemption's? I wish I were in your shoes waiting for one of these cards.

I think giving up on Upper Deck is pretty harsh. I am not sure about your collection, but mine would be less than half as valuable without Upper Deck quality.

    Re: obama icon cards

spoken like a true rep for UD....lol

waiting is one thing, but for over a YEAR? lol give me a break. Since the card has been promised with the redemption card, Farve has played a full year and a half and been on two teams. He barely played for the Jets yet we are anxiously waiting for a card with him on it? He is hated by most Packer fans now and didnt do anything for the Jets, so their fans dont appreciate him either. The Viking fans might like him now, but they collect AP already. The fan base has shrunk. This card has lost alot of its value in that time.

I have seen some quality cards produced in a few months. How long did it take them to make the bonus card? I am sure they were not working on that one for the entire time. Pre-made? The redemption card was inserted and that idea had to be conceived. You would think they would already have been working on the cards the whole time and not wait till people sent their redemptions in to start making it.

So, UD rep....thanks for the speech.

    Re: obama icon cards

How much more of a horror story could it be than waiting more than a year?  When I put in for this redemption, Obama wasn't even then President yet!  I've now waited a year since he got the nod.  My collection will be just fine without Upper Deck.  It will add to my collection in my bank account, that's for sure.  Just saying, the bonus for this wait is laughable.

    Re: obama icon cards

I am glad you appreciate my speech, but unfortunately I am not an Upper Deck rep. I am just a fan of their products. I have purchased Topps and Donruss, but I just don't like them as much. So, if liking their product is considered being a rep, then yes, I am a rep.

I am not sure where you are from, but where I am we don't have a lot of options on where to purchase cards. Target and Walmart? Give me a break. There isn't a lot of selection, and I know there aren't the same kinds of pulls you can find in other hobby boxes. Every time I travel I seek out a shop where I can buy some higher end packs of cards because I just can't find it here. It is a HUGE bummer.

Waiting for a redemption card is frustrating, I get that, but again I am jealous you are even waiting for the card. I would be more than happy to take your place and wait for it.

You don't have to buy from them again. I respect that. Maybe your collection is full of special edition cards and this one doesn't make a difference, but in my case it would be a huge addition. No matter what I hope you keep collecting. That is the most fun.

    Re: obama icon cards

Ok...while you are wiping your brown nose off, please, explain what fun it is waiting for something 15 months. I have anxiously waiting for new stock to hit the stores each year, whether its UD Topps Donruss etc and I will continue to do so (a little less since Topps will not be making football now) but its usually out as promised (or close to). This card on the otherhand, took extremely too long to make. You want to wait for it. Well, since its on its way out now, I will wait for it...unless of course you want to pay for the original cards worth of $50 and not its $5-10 worth now. You don't? Didnt think so. You still have the option of buying online which sometimes is better than having a LCS. Thanks for your so-called comments.

    Re: obama icon cards

The brown nose comment is actually pretty funny. I can see how it looks that way. No offense taken though.

I like the experience of walking into a local card shop. For me it makes buying cards that much better.

When I buy stuff it is usually on ebay. Do you know of any other sites where I can purchase cards?

It doesn't look like we will agree on the Upper Deck thing, but maybe you can give me some good tips on ways for me to expand my collection.

    Re: obama icon cards

have you ever tried beckett.com. you can buy trade and sell with other collectors and usually find everything you might be looking for. you will find other collectors who share your passion for the hobby and can even discuss stuff in their forums on every sport there is. you will find up to the minute hobby news as well and also have access to their OPG. local card shops are in the business to make money. they will talk to you, but are really pumping their inventory up and you might not be getting the actual truth on whats hot and whats not. give them a try.
