i understand it takes time, but over a year?? come on UD

exactly.  why would it take a year? i think it was because they were more concerned about getting "new" products out that they put the redemptions on the back burner since they already had the money for this product. and the redemptions will be shipped in the next couple weeks? i give it til thanksgiving til i will have to call "AGAIN" to ask about these cards.

i am glad i don't have one of these redemptions that UD says "they had to develop and are shipping now". Come on UD several 2009football products are out, but you still haven't gotten out ll the redemptions from 2008. This really makes me wanna buy more UD.

Empty promises. This is so unprofessional for a company like Upperdeck. Boycott is the only way this company will understand that the public has had it with their empty promises. The card industry is going down the tubes because of this type of customer service. There is NO excuse that would warrant this type of delay. The friggen card isn't signed, isn't game used, Nothing! If they couldn't provide the product, they shouldn't have offered it!

i already only buy Donruss for football b/c their product is much better, along with their customer service. I buy UD hockey b/c that is the only company that makes hockey cards.

Re: 2008 ICONS IMMORTAL LETTER BRETT FAVRE

We understand your frustrations and again apologize for any inconvenience the delay in getting these cards out has caused.  While it was never intended to take this long to provide these redeemed cards to all of you holding redemptions, we hope it will be understood that Upper Deck would rather take longer to put out a quality card that is produced correctly with no damage rather than something that would not satisfy our the standards of our collectors.

I assure you that production of the Favre Lettermen cards is in the process of being completed as we speak.  For those holding one of these redemptions, we sincerely appreciate your patience and as a show of our gratitude, we will be including a limited edition bonus card as a thank you.

For those who no longer wish to wait for their redemption, we are more than happy to replace your card with something comparable according to your desired players and/or teams.  Simply email Time2Swap@upperdeck.com and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you in replacing your redemption.

Thank you again for your continued support of Upper Deck.

Beyond the fact that I've been waiting 10 months for a non-auto redemption, two months ago, I tried e-mailing that "time2swap" for replacement players. I was never responded to, and my other e-mails (3 or 4 of them) were ignored by UD. Come on guys, get with it.

There is no reason your emails should go unanswered.  If you give me your names and email addresses, I will personally pass them along to our redemption/replacement manager so they can work with you on replacing your redemption.

Re: 2008 ICONS IMMORTAL LETTER BRETT FAVRE

I believe "fine" is being just a tad generous.

Did you read the entire thread?

This is a non-autographed and non-gameused card. I redeemed mine on Sptember 28th, 2008. Not 2009, but over a year ago in 2008.

I don't even collect Brett Favre but planned on doing what I normally do to cards of players I don't collect. Sell it on Ebay and use the winnings to purchase more packs, or more likely pick up something from the Cowboys or Astros off of Ebay for my personal collection.

The Favre letterman card pictures him as a Jet with the letters spelling "Broadway Brett". Now back in September/November of 2008 this would have been a hot card. But I can't see it being that heavily collected now that he's playing for the Vikings.

    Dude, it's been almost 13 months for a non-autographed, non-game used card. That's rediculous.

I appreciate the fact that UD is including a bonus card but I'm not going to lie. If it's something lame...I'm not going to be happy.

One last thing. When you've been told on more than one occasion that the card was going to be shipped by such and such date and it never shows up, you realize you've been lied to. I'm still not very optimistic that the cards will be shipped any time soon. I do thank any UD Rep who's responded in this thread. I know your position is probably not that easily defended.

Re: 2008 ICONS IMMORTAL LETTER BRETT FAVRE

I am playing devil's advocate here, because I agree that these should have been taken care of long ago.

    But.......

If the sole intention was to flip the card, why would you not have simply sold the redemption card before redeeming and let someone else go through the headache of the redemption process?

    Just asking....

For those people that have been nothing but angry about the situation, make use of the olive branch that has been extended in this thread.  And in the future, you have the ability to make decisions, and do so with your pocketbook.

I have dealt with UD, Topps, Donruss, and all have their redemption flaws.  I have yet to find a company that does everything right, from the process, to the answering of emails, phone calls, replacements and overall customer service.  If you think these things are limited to UD only, get your head out of the sand, and give it a shake.
