You won’t believe what collectors are pulling from packs in the Philippines, Australia and Denmark
North Las Vegas, NV (December 10, 2008) – For card collectors, Upper Deck’s Exquisite brand provides the biggest thrill when opening a pack. It’s also one of the most expensive brands with packs selling for $500 or more, so it is not an experience in which every collector can indulge. So imagine the thrill of opening not just one pack, but 150 packs! That’s what a group of collectors in the Philippines did and you can see what they got on Upper Deck’s “Diamond Vision” site at http://www.upperdeck.com/diamondvision.
You can also see two very passionate basketball collectors from Australia who are dedicated to “bring the fun back to the hobby.” The entertaining pair, Rhys and Stashman, take you along in their quest to open every Upper Deck Basketball product of the 2008-09 season. They even have their own theme song and provide some very clever commentary.
Finally, there is a young hockey collector from Denmark named Ethan who seems talented beyond his 13 years. Not only does he open up some new packs of Upper Deck hockey cards, but he unveils a product that he designed and created himself. You just have to see the cards this inventive teenager has created as he truly represents the future of the hobby.
Upper Deck had three channels on its “Diamond Vision” site until recently that included Upper Deck Exclusives (interviews with Upper Deck spokesmen), Upper Deck Events (behind the scenes footage at events) and Upper Deck Commercials. But the new “Uncover Greatness” channel allows collectors to submit their own content which will be updated weekly at http://www.upperdeck.com/diamondvision.
“We’ve been blown away at how creative collectors are with some of these videos,” said Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s hobby marketing manager. “Some of the most interesting videos we’ve seen so far have come from international customers so it’s exciting to see how far-reaching Upper Deck trading cards are around the world. We encourage other collectors to send us links to their unique videos or just stop by the site to check out the latest videos we are posting.”
Collectors can e-mail DiamondVision@upperdeck.com with the link to any unique or creative videos that they have produced or have seen online themselves that feature Upper Deck cards. The bar has been set pretty high with videos received from these first three collectors, but certainly there is more fun and excitement to come on Upper Deck’s “Diamond Vision” site.
